Are you thinking of becoming a citizen of the United States?
The first step is to prepare for the citizenship test. The test consists of an oral interview and a written test covering U.S. history and state and federal government.
If you speak, read, and write basic English, you are ready to fill out your citizenship application at a Partnership Citizenship Clinic. If you do not speak, read, and write basic English, there are programs that offer assistance, contact a Partner in your area to find out more.
Citizenship classes are often free and also provide mock interviews to prepare individuals for their citizenship interview with an officer of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
